Maybe it's time to look for Spanish tutors for a bit of supplemental instruction. It's easy to find a tutor online!Get your methodology right! (Source:  Björn Larsson)Private tutor s can help a student in primary school or secondary school change how they work in order to work more effectively. How? They can teach them how to make revision sheets for French, history, or geography or how to apply their maths formulae.Their approach might be failing them when it comes to the exams. The private tutorials may focus on exam technique.Weekly practice exercises or mock exams will give students a huge advantage when it comes to eradicating a failing exam methodology. If you feel stressed by exams, check out our tips.#7 Make Them Provide Regular WorkA student who works regularly will get to know the content of their courses in a matter of weeks. However, it’s quite common for students to only revise what they need to know for an exam or an essay when they need to know it.Learning then becomes cramming. Then the student doesn’t open their binder for weeks.Private tutorials fo rce students to be more disciplined. The private tutor can tell the student which topics they need to go over and then give them exercises during the week. Corrected activities can then be sent back to student via email. The student will learn quickly by working regularly.By putting aside half an hour every day to study a subject, students can see their grades improve by one or two grade boundaries.#8 Made-to-measure TeachingTeachers at primary school, secondary school, or university work with one type of material: books, handouts, PowerPoint, etc. However, this type of learning doesn’t work for everyone. It takes a certain type of educator to become a tutor.Auditory learners won’t benefit from these visuals. They prefer to hear things being explained directly like you would with in home tutoring.Private tutorials are made to measure. (Source: Suit Engine)A one to one private tutor over webcam can explain concepts until the student perfectly understands the idea.Visual learners prefer to work with graphs and diagrams. Introvert Whisperer / Best Outfits For Introverts - Introvert Whisperer Best Outfits For Introverts Sure, you dont like crowds and dont need the constant attention of strangers, but that shouldnt stop you from looking your best. First and second impressions do matter, and while you might not want any “look-at-me!” outfits in your closet, taking pains with your appearance will positively affect your interactions with other people. So, focusing on style rather than showiness, here are a few shopping tips to help you look your best, every day: Cotton Jersey Sweat Shirt This garment is not only comfortable but looks good on any body type, can be paired with a wide array of other clothing and will keep you warm when its chilly out. You can find a range of subtle colors such as pale dogwood rather than bright pink, and dress in additional layers both on the inside and outside the sweatshirt if the weathers really grim. Maxi Sweater Dress This is currently very fashionable, comfortable to wear and doesnt make it seem like youre trying to show off your curves. If youre on the shorter side, you can easily wear it with heels. You can also get a cardio workout on their stationary cycles or work the other gym equipment they have.Interestingly enough, one of their heavy bags is shaped like a human torso, the better to gauge the aim of your kicks and punches! This is a fun-loving, family-run facility that is nevertheless serious about working out. Thanks to popular demand, Hangar has added extra Muay Thai classes to their schedule; you may now sele ct either their Wednesday or Thursday evening courses.Even if you are as yet uncertain about becoming a Muay Thai fighter, the Hangar is well worth checking out, along with other Muay Thai clubs in Cardiff. We’ll see you there!

In fact, the British Council considers Italian the 7th most important language for Britain’s future. There aren't as many graduates in Italian as you might think. (Source: pixabay.com)That said, it’s unlikely a 14-year-old will see that statistic as a good sign for taking an Italian course. The same might be said for foreign language departments at secondary schools. After all, why offer Italian language courses when languages like Spanish, Arabic, French, Chinese, German, and Portuguese are all considered more important? This is why Italian is always going to struggle and it’s a shame. However, that doesn’t mean that children can’t study Italian at GCSE or A Level. There are also way s to study Italian outside of school. Can You Learn Italian at Secondary School? While a foreign language isn’t compulsory at GCSE, schools are still required to offer students the change to learn a new language. Learning a foreign language at primary school has been compulsory since 2014.There's still hope for language learning in the UK! However, since only one language has to be offered, it’s unlikely there'll be Italian lessons available. While this might sound like a lot of doom and gloom, in independent schools that have continued to offer Italian, most of them have managed to increase the number of students studying Italian. It’s a start! However, when you consider the lack of schools offering Italian as a subject and how few students decide to take an optional modern foreign language GCSE, you’ll hardly be surprised to find out that very few students in the UK take Italian at GCSE. Yikes! Dont Confuse These 7 Tricky Spanish Words

Yikes! Dont Confuse These 7 Tricky Spanish Words Suzy S. As a beginner learning Spanish, its easy to feel overwhelmed by new vocabulary. How do you keep track of all of the Spanish words and meanings? Not to mention all the false cognates that  are out there! Fortunately, with practice, Spanish words and phrases  will become like second nature to you. Just watch out for the tricky word pairs! For a helpful lesson,  our friends at Lingolistic  recently shared an article with us  with some words that are particularly confusing for beginners. Here are a few of them: Vaya, valla Vaya: to indicate surprise, either for a bad or a good reason. It also works as the verb “to go,” which is where most people make mistakes. Example: “ ¡Vaya noche, me lo he pasado genial!” (What a night, I had a wonderful time!). Valla: it sounds the same, but it means “fence.” Example: “Ayer pinté la valla de verde” (I painted the fence green yesterday). So  remember: vaya for the verb, valla for the object. Haber, a ver Although the difference is quite big, people tend to make this mistake very, very frequently since both sound the same. Haber: the verb to indicate “there is” or “there are.” Example: “Hay un coche estropeado” (There is a broken car there). A ver: the meaning is “let’s see,” but people usually use the previous verb (haber) instead. Example: “A ver, qué comemos hoy” (Let’s see, what do we have for lunch). Ay, hay, ahí If youre a Spanish learner, this might be a headache, but don’t worry, there is a sentence to make it clearer: “Ahí hay un hombre que dice ¡ay!” (Over there, there is a man saying ouch!). Ahí: “there, over there” Hay: the verb “haber” in present  tense, “there is/are” Ay: a moan, “ouch” Continue reading the article here, and make sure to check out the other resources Lingolistic  has available for Spanish learners! Building Great Relationships with Your Students

Building Great Relationships with Your Students At the core of a successful teaching strategy is a good teacher-student relationship. When students feel connected to their teachers, theyre more invested and willing to put forth effort, which leads to better academic outcomes. Here are a few tips to help you build quality relationships with your students: Get to know them. Remember things about them. Show interest in who they are as people outside of your classroom. Pay attention to the little things. Let them get to know you. Share a little about yourself so the relationship doesnt feel one-sided. Be genuine. Ask their opinions. Treat your students with respect and show them by listening intently that you are interested in what they think and have to say. Establish a trusting relationship. Put them in the drivers seat whenever possible. Let them try new things and encourage them to take some risks. Set expectations and always follow through when you say youll do something. Express your passion. Your enthusiasm for what you teach and for helping students learn can be both inspiring and contagious. Have fun. Make your classroom a vibrant and enjoyable place to learn. Find ways to make lessons more engaging and interactive. Remind them often that youre there for help. Above all, make certain that your students know you care. Offer office hours throughout the week and encourage students to come in (or email you) if they need help or want to talk. The more you foster good relationships with your students, the more your students will feel comfortable in your classroom. This enhances your teaching, making for more effective instruction and deeper student learning.
